well i currently go to a small high school in a small town in pennsylvania. I grew up in new jersey so i hate the rural area and stuff and so im moving in with my dad which lives in indian trail north carolina. i never experienced going to a 'big' high school before. (1,356 kids from 500 kids) I'm just wondering on how to make friends quick, im really worried about me not making friends and stuff. %26amp; typical answers join sports or clubs but im not really into all that. but anything else?Starting a new school %26amp; need advice?
just be yourself and try to be open, but still be a little shy %26lt; that will make people want to approach you.
ask them for homework help, which is an easy way to start a conversation. if others need help, help them, haha, even if you're not that smart, it doesn't matter. just fess up and say that you really can't do it and then have a laugh about it. just be outgoing, bubbly and don't act over-confident.Starting a new school %26amp; need advice?
My best friend now was new our junior year of high school and we met in english class. She ended up being nominated for homecoming queen because she was herself. She was outgoing and nice and made an effort to talk to people, she also was allot of fun so that helped as well. Just be yourself and don't stress about it so much because you will be doing this all again when going to college. I was new my freshman year of high school but i was quiet and sat in the back so no one knew who i was but as soon as i broke out of my shell i loved high school and made some of my greatest friends!!
Well i was in your situation 2 years ago. I was worried about it too, but when i got there everyone welcomed me! At first just be friends with everyone...even if they don't seem ';cool';. After a week or so you'll know who is ';cool'; and who is ';geeky'; I hate to say it but that's the way things are now...My bff took me in on the orientation night so i was welcomed very good. Don't worry to much about it cause it'll all work out in the end!
Good Luck!!
