Not enjoying new high school?! advice please :)?

I just started 9th grade (well 2 months ago) and im not having very much fun. I decided to be in a magnet program (challenging academic program) and it is at a different high school than the one i would normally go to. So all my friends from middle school go to another high school and i miss them (i still hang out with them on weekends sometimes though). I've made some friends at my new school but i don't really have much in common with them and it seems like all they ever do is study!! i want to have fun too! How can i become friends with more exciting people that i can have fun with? also i think i might want to go to the high school with all my friends next year if things don't get any better. wat do you think? thanks!! :)Not enjoying new high school?! advice please :)?
Give it some time to get to know people. You'll have to spend some one-on-one time outside of class with these people, to see what they're like. Maybe you can invite some of them to meet your other friends, and you all could do something fun together. Get through the school year, before making your decision to switch! It's too soon to be worrying about that!
