Not to scare you, but likely that goldfish is going to die in that bowl.





A goldfish needs at least 20 gallons and a filter, and 25% water changes.

Because Goldfish should not belong in bowls. Fancy Goldfish should be in a 20 gallon tank minimum, and Common Goldfish should be in a 55+ gallon tank minimum.

If you are asking why your goldfish is blowing bubbles there could be a few reasons here. He is just sucking the surface. More than likely looking for more food. Secondly he could have something caught in his gill and is just trying to get it out. Test your water. If the nitrites are too high he will suck the surface of the water to get air that is being robbed from the water. Does he have a filter? How often are the water changes and do you test the water?





PS the oldest goldfish on record was 45 and lived its entire life in a bowl.
i think it means theres not enough oxygen in the tank. i no bettas make bubble nest but i think thats different.


is the tank filtered? try adding some live plants. what water did u use? distilled is bad. use natural drinking water. if u used tap water, u need to put in the stuff to take out chlorine and stuff. well water is bad too.





edit: o, wait its in a bowl? goldfish need 20 gallons like darryl said. with a filter. thats another problem. thats ok, most people think goldfish can live in bowls, but if they dont have a big tank they will die. at least try to get a 10 or 15 gallon. bowls r bad. howd u like to live in a little room ur whole life?
Well if you just set this tank up, it will most likely have bubbles as a sort of shock, when the water meets glass for the first time a chemical reaction occurs with the two and small bubbles form, so it may not be your goldfish.
