Buying a New Laptop, need advice?

I want to purchase a Lap Top. I need some advice on what to look for before purchasing. I use my P.C. a lot. I want to be able to see streaming videos well without them seeming to freeze up every few seconds. I also want to be able to play games and see good graphics. I also write a lot. I've been told that Toshiba is a good brand, is this true. The ones that seem to be more expensive have 4 gigabytes of RAM, do I need this many for my usage?Buying a New Laptop, need advice?
Forget about the MacBooks. If you want a high performance laptop you should get the Gateway P-7811FX. Relatively inexpensive compared to similarly equipped laptops. If you want more affordability look at some of the past FX models still available at Best Buy which are all under $1000.Buying a New Laptop, need advice?
TOSHIBA really is a good brand out there........ at this point in time a 4GB ram is just standard because if you are using windows vista you should have at least have 1.5 gb RAM on your system...... (thats only for vista)..... Many toshiba laptops have built in graphics card that can deliver supreme gaming and visual performance,,,,,, most popular brands out there are ATI and NVDIA....... Look at the specs of your laptop if you see one of them then your laptop is good in handling demmanding great visual content....... (p.s. please see also their graphic memory it should 256 and above to give great visual performance). And lastly there is the processor technology. Presently all laptops today (except some MAC's) are power by either AMD or Intel... both the those brands are good they can deliver superb PC performance just be sure to choose the right one which sooths your needs.................

I can assure TOSHIBA laptops are the best out there.............. I have been owning a toshiba laptops for 4 years now.... and i am now considering buying a new toshiba laptop sometime in the future.........

Here are some of the Best laptop manufacturers arround:

1. Toshiba

2. HP

3. Dell

4. Lenovo

5. Sony
Yes Toshiba's are great laptops, they have a good variety of computers...My dad and brother have had them and have had no problems...Umm if you like to play high demanding games, and like to play them quite frequently then you should probably get a 3 or 4 gig system, you can always upgrade, its sometimes cheaper that way.But uf you are just a casual gamer, and like to stream movies, and play mid-lvl games, you could go with 2...That's how much i have and i will have a video encoding, music playing,5 internets on and streaming vid. and i only use 1.19 of my 2 gigs...

But you will probably have to get a system that cost 750$+ to 1000$ range GL

here is an example of a nice gaming/entertainment computer.

If you are looking for Great quality go Mac! if you want affordability and quality go Dell. i have a compaq and a mac i would say stay away from compaq, HP and Gateway. My compaq is slow for me and vista is screwey. Get alotta ram 4 gigs would be more than enough for anything. and i would suggest atleast a Harddrive over 250 gigabytes. and a fast proccessor 2.0 GHz or higher. if you do hard gaming and use alot of graphics get one with a fast video card usually the embedded video card is not enough to run high graphics. and personally i am a fan of pointless buttons and gadgets.
Are you just playing simple games on websites or card games?

Or do you plan on playing games of similar quality to that of video game systems?

Be a bit more specific because it really affects the answer.
You need lots of RAM and a fast processor to play games. Games are very demanding. Also need a great graphics card.
i love my mac:) there is only one downside. some applications (such as napster and some video games) aren't compatible with the mac:(

:) :) (: (:
Just cash in and get a Mac. Its the best investment you will ever make.
