Hey, i quit my job and am heading off to work under my uncle at his newly built mecanic shop. im totally excited to learn some stuff. is there anything you guys could advise that i learn to help me, stuff about cars, and maybe simething that could impress him. idk, anything helps. thanksAdvice on My New Job?
Don't try to impress him at all. He knows you so if you try to be something you are not, it will show right through.
You should:
Be on time. Hard to overemphasize this one. Also, IMHO, seems like most young people don't give a care much about being on time. Always be on time.
Work hard. There is always something to do so, when you are supposed to be working, work. In the unlikely event that all the work is done, grab a broom or a mop. Find the jobs that need to be done, do not expect them to come to you.
Study hard. Your uncle will give you something to study. It may be a Chilton's guide, a car maintenance manual or the shop safety rules. Whatever it is, study it and learn it.
Make you uncle glad he gave yo a chance. Keep a good attitude and do the stuff I mentioned. You will do great.
By the way, congrats on the new job!
