NEW BORN BABY ADVICE?

Hello im due in two weeks with my first baby, i am very concerned about the noise level in my unit, people in my unit block r very noisy, slamming doors thumping floors and walls, the loud thuds can be heard in my unit and even startle me at all hours. i have made complaints but it continues. i have 5 months left on lease and plan to move. but has any one been in the same situation? i am extremely stressed about this situation. i have heard it is noisy in the womb, do new Born's startle easy? i am so anxious about bringing baby home.NEW BORN BABY ADVICE?
The baby should be fine as they are used to noise in utero. In fact, many babies sleep better with noise and don't like it too quiet. Try to keep some noise in your unit when they sleep (such as white noises such as fan, radio etc). This will also help mask any loud sudden noises that may startle a baby and potentially wake them. Any sudden loud noises may startle your baby, especially to begin with if they are unused to it. I suggest swaddling your baby, including their arms, up tight in a thin muslin or cotton wrap. Young babies have a startle reflex and a sudden loud noise such as a door slam or similar may trigger it. Swaddling them will help prevent their startling reflex and make them feel more secure. That should help baby get through the next 5 months, but I feel for you. You are going to need all the sleep you can get and mummy's are very light sleepers.

Best of luck!!NEW BORN BABY ADVICE?
As others have said, baby is already used to the noise and having her used to it is a good thing! Another thing you can do, because who wants to accidentally wake a sleeping newborn?, is get a white noise machine, like a small fan, and run that while baby is sleeping. It'll help drown out excess noise and provide extra air circulation in the nursery, which is a good thing from the SIDS perspective. After time, it also becomes a cue to them that when they hear it it's time to go to sleep. :)
Don't be anxious it'll be fine, your baby would have heard these noises in the womb along with all the other noises of your body %26amp; if it's all your baby knows he'll think it's totally normal! My 7week old has to endure cows, horses, roosters, dogs, machinery, cockatoo's, kookaburra's %26amp; countless other birds out on the farm %26amp; he doesn't even stir!

Congrats on your baby %26amp; enjoy every minute x
Babies get used to noise easily I used to have my stereo blasting when my first was tiny but she always slept through it. I don't do that anymore with the others but I can vacuum while they're asleep and don't have to worry about the noise around our street. Much better to have a baby that's used to noise while they sleep than one who isn't and stressing every time someone makes a noise.
the biggest mistake parents do is keep things quiet around baby, trust me. take baby back to your unit she'll get used to it that way you wont have to tipy toe around her and she'll be a really easy baby.
newborns are adaptable, your baby should have no troubles, good luck to you...
