Advice re buying new DVD-ROM player?

I'm looking to replace my malfunctioning old DVD-ROM but I'm confused about which new one to buy.

Isn't the first one listed above BY FAR the best so why is it the same price as slower players with fewer options?

why even bother getting a DVD-ROM when you can get a DVD burner for the same price or less?
