I plan on moving to tampa florida from New York, Any advice?

I'm currently saving money to move from New York to tampa florida. I lived out there for A couple of months in 2005, but lost all contact with friends. I need any advice befofe I moved out there.

My biggest concerns are

1 Geting A job

2 Finding a affordable apartment

3 Living in A safe area

4 Things to do

5 The hurricane season

I depended on A family member to get me to where I needed, but this time I'm on my own and don't have her help second time around. Help !!!!I plan on moving to tampa florida from New York, Any advice?
First, be prepared to drive everywhere. The bus system is HORRIBLE (my mode of transportation when I lived there), taxis expensive %26amp; few %26amp; far between, %26amp; the city is not designed for walking or biking (no sidewalks or bike lanes, heavy traffic not use to walkers/bikers...).

Next, the water smells %26amp; tastes of chlorine so stock up on spring water %26amp; take short showers. The air, on the other hand, is normal for a big city.

1. Most jobs in Tampa are in the service industry, health care, and some technology. If you need a job fast to hold you over apply at Busch Gardens. Unless you have dreads or facial hair. Also try the universities (U. of Southern FL %26amp; U. of Tampa).

2. Apartments--try around the 2 universities. University of Tampa is downtown so may be a better location, but...

3. ...a little pricer, %26amp; research your neighborhood.

4. Ybor City (http://www.ybortimes.com/what-is-ybor.cf鈥?/a> can be fun, sometimes. Relatively nearby downtown Sarasota has a lot to do http://www.sarasotadowntown.com/entertai鈥?/a>

5. Lightening storms, streets flooding from heavy rain %26amp; recently planted palm trees being uprooted by high winds are the biggest problems you'll face during hurricane season. But stock-up on water, can goods, candles, %26amp; batteries for your flashlight %26amp; radio before hurricane season when you'll get price gouged %26amp; supplies may be harder to find. IF there is a hurricane, be sure you know the backroads to go further inland--the main roads will be at a dead stop.I plan on moving to tampa florida from New York, Any advice?
Florida is not the place to move to at this time

job market sucks no matter where you are, the housing market sucks too right now and no one can sell their homes or you cant buy a decent one at a good price and hurricane season is approaching, you cant get out of that one.....

I recommend another state
idk but nyc is a better place to live
